A Kitchen Teaching Us to Eat Well for the Greater Good
The philosophy at 1440 Multiversity is food is the foundation of optimal health and diet is the essential key to all successful healing. Its teaching kitchen gives both onsite guests and online visitors the opportunity to eat well, live well, and sharpen their culinary skills. Experiences range from an immersive weekend session to explore themes such as “The Flavors of Italy” to a single class. The team has worked with wounded warriors, held employee team building, and supporting at-risk youth. They’ve held “healing healthcare heroes” sessions and continuing education for healthcare personnel and offered palliative care sessions for patients. Much of the produce used in classes comes from the onsite garden named for its founder, Joanie’s Garden.
1440 Multiversity was founded to create hope for living well with the 1,440 minutes we have each day. It’s campus is a beautiful and nurturing destination where people and organizations can gather in community to explore, learn, reflect, connect, and re-energize. Since opening in May 2017, this unique nonprofit has established itself as a premier learning destination in the world, having welcomed over 100,000 visitors from more than 54 countries.
